Financial Services Guide

I’m Josh Kozis, a degree-qualified Financial Planner with Financial Streams.

I specialise in helping Australians aged 55–67 who are in the most important financial decade of their lives — turning years of accumulated wealth into a clear, tax-effective retirement strategy.

I primarily work with clients face-to-face across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and the Hunter region, and I travel to Tasmania regularly for my clients there. Digital appointments are also available for those who prefer it which means I can meet with everyday Australians all over the country.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Both — and working with couples is something I genuinely enjoy. Two people rarely see money, risk, and retirement the same way. Part of my role is helping partners get on the same page, so the plan you build together is one you both feel confident living.

  • We typically meet twice a year to review your plan in depth, with ad hoc appointments as needed in between. You'll also receive proactive updates throughout the year — around the Federal Budget, end of financial year, and any other changes that could affect your situation. And you'll always have direct access to me — not a call centre or a rotating roster of staff.

  •  Yes — and it's an area where good advice can make a significant difference. The rules around the Age Pension assets and income tests are complex, and small adjustments to how your assets are structured can meaningfully affect your entitlements. Centrelink strategy tends to be most powerful when considered alongside your super and broader investment structure, which is how we approach it.

  • That's one of the most common misconceptions in financial planning. The value of good advice isn't measured by how much you have — it's measured by the difference it makes to where you end up. A complimentary 15-minute conversation is a good place to start, and you might be surprised by what's possible.

  • That's exactly what ongoing advice is for. Life rarely goes to plan — a job change, an inheritance, a health event, or simply shifting priorities can all affect your strategy. We review and adapt your plan as your life evolves, so you're never left working from a document that no longer reflects your reality.
